LCEP stands for Liver Cancer Equity Project.

The Liver Cancer Equity Project is a study dedicated to understanding the complex reasons for more late-stage liver cancer diagnoses within Los Angeles County’s low socioeconomic status communities.

Your participation will help us develop ways to improve early detection of liver cancer in low socioeconomic communities throughout LA. You will receive $50 for your time and effort.

You will be asked to participate in a one-time questionnaire and for release of your medical records related to your liver cancer diagnosis and treatment.

We received your name from the cancer registry in the state where you were diagnosed. Each state is required by law to report the names of patients who are diagnosed with cancer.

HIPAA stands for 'Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act'. This Act protects your health information by law. This HIPAA form is required by the hospitals to provide us with access to your medical records.
